Aylor Middle School in Frederick County, VA and was on the Jazz Faculty for the regional Governor's School, Performing and Visual Arts Northwest, for fifteen years. He is the director of the Clarke County Community Band and former band director at Harmony Middle School in Loudoun County, Virginia. Paul is currently an adjunct professor at Shenandoah University teaching music education. Reinhardt - designer and author of "The Pivot System." He has been a music educator for over thirty years. Verne Collins, Alan Wright, Fred Marzan, Chris Pedersen - director of The Garden State Symphonic Band and Dr. Paul has studied trombone, brass pedagogy and jazz studies with Robert Schectman, William Seeman, Dr. Paul received both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music Education from Shenandoah Conservatory, with additional studies through Combs College of Music in Philadelphia. The band won the Jaycess Talent Expo in 1971 at the Garden State Arts Center, competing against over forty other groups. His first horn band, Blue Love, was based on groups like BS&T and Chicago. Paul began playing in horn bands and jazz groups in the late-1960's around the New York - New Jersey area. A multi-instrumentalist, he is currently working on an album of his growing catalog of songs about positive social commentary that celebrates the common ground we can find together, regardless of our differences. Michael is also the drummer and vocalist for Loudoun County's own songwriting band, "Andy Hawk and the Trainwreck Endings", as songwriting is his passion. He has also served as a Production/Stage Manager for several large Florida music festivals, including the Sarasota Blues Festival and Venetian Sun Fiesta.

In 1981, Michael began his professional career in Southern California as a member of "The Willie Aames Band", in support of Willie Aames of the "Eight is Enough" and "Charles in Charge" television series. Michael is also a member of "The Ruins", a NOVA alt-country outfit known for their 2010 self-titled album, produced and recorded by Marco Delmar. Notable dates with the band include Nissan Pavilion Side Stage openings for Kansas and Yes, opening for Johnny Winter, and playing Friday Night Live in Herndon. Lori has noticed, “We carry less equipment than a band and the volume level is so much quieter.” Randy adds, “We enjoy doing big horn band dates with Alter Ego, but Randy and Lori events allow us to get up close and personal with the audience.Michael Gauvreau has been an active member of the Northern Virginia music scene since 1998, when he was hired by the regional tribute band, "Pride Enjoy", after moving to the area from Florida. Lori nods, “And it’s the women that pull the men out onto the dance floor - so we pay careful attention to what the ladies like!" After playing occasionally as a duo act in recent years, Randy & Lori decided to concentrate more on duo events in 2015. “For the last eight years, we have taken note of those songs that make people jump out of their chairs! We try to mix up a blend of songs that fits each particular crowd and maybe surprise them with one of those tunes that makes them say 'I haven't heard that one in a while!,'” says Randy. Performing with Alter Ego has afforded Randy and Lori the opportunity to see firsthand what songs are popular with restaurant crowds, and what works with exclusive club events. At home in SW Florida, Randy and Lori are seasoned professionals with extensive career bios. Lori began singing with The Cotton Sisters in Redlands, California and segued into studio vocal work as well as playing keyboards. Randy began his career with Sweet Comfort Band and ALLIES, touring the world as a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and record producer.
Randy and Lori lead worship at Westminster Presbyterian Church, finding their second musical home as a duo and playing with local favorite Alter Ego band (often voted by News-Press as the best band in Fort Myers!). In their former home studio in Nashville, Tennessee, Randy racked up countless Christian / Country / Pop hit songs, produced records and toured with international acts (such as Shania Twain) while Lori helped run the business and doubled as studio vocalist. When requested at special events, they perform some of Randy's original hit songs, such as "Butterfly Kisses" and "Why'd You Come In Here Lookin' Like That?" (Recorded by Dolly Parton).
Randy and Lori have performed dance and dinner music at many of the finer country clubs around their home area of Fort Myers, Florida for the last eight years. Grammy Award- winning songwriter Randy Thomas leads this duo act with his wife, Lori.
